Select The Professional Towing System That Suit All Your Towing Needs

Towing System

Whether you need a professional towing for recreation purpose or to get your new startup business going, you will need 4 different accessories and these are: the Hitch, the Ball and the Wiring. Read on..

Before you go out and buy a professional towing system, you need to know your vehicle's towing capabilities and capacity. This is vital if you are select the right professional towing system that suits all your towing needs. Again, what kind of trailer you attach/buy will also depend on your vehicles towing capabilities and capacity.

So, before you begin:

1. Identify your vehicle's towing capabilities and capacity – you will probably find the relevant information towards the end of your vehicle manual.

2. Identify trailer type, weight and coupler style – again, refer to your trailer manual.

3. Refer manual to find information on which class receiver is required to safely tow your cargo – find out if a towing assist is required for towing heavy cargo.

The Hitch – This is a the hardware that is attached to your vehicle. The type of hitch you select (light duty to extremely heavy duty) would depend on your vehicle's towing capacity and the type of trailer you need to attach.

Mount & Ball – This is the piece of hardware that raises or lowers the towing system to ensure that your trailer and vehicle are always at the same level as you drive.

Wiring – Every trailer needs to have brake lamps. Additionally, some trailers may have powered brakes and sensor systems connected to specialised equipment mounted in the drive cabin. Wiring would be required to power all these. These days most trailers have factory installed lighting and come with connectors that you can plug into your tow vehicle and be ready to go. Sensor and computer related wiring needs to be carefully handled and attached to the correct connectors. Once you have plugged in everything, be sure to test it out before you hit the main roads.

Locking accessories - optional, but required the prevent the trailer from being stolen. These days locking mechanism essentially consists of safety chains and coupler locks.

Safety Chains are attached to the trailer tongue and keep the trailer connected to the Tow Bar Accessories. This also helps if the coupler or hitch ball detach from the tow vehicle. Safety chains must be secured every time you tow. For additional safety and security, you should cross the chains under the trailer tongue.

Coupler Lock – This is a pin style lock designed to fit through the coupler's latching mechanism disabling it from being removed from the ball. This in turn prevents someone from removing the trailer.

Hitch lock – This is a locking pin designed to secure the ball mount to the hitch, essentially to prevent theft.

Trailer Lock – For preventing unauthorised trailer use or theft.

How To Find Best Roof Racks Online Suppliers In Australia?

Roof Racks

These days any family that heads out for a holiday in their vehicle has tons of stuff to carry – from bikes to skis to snowboards, luggage, tents, etc. etc. Sometimes you wish you could drive your home to the holiday destination but unless you live in a camper (in which case you probably wouldn't need a roof rack); this is not an option. The next best – of course, roof racks!

But if you are anything like us, instead of just blindly heading out to your nearest roof rack or car accessory store, you probably want to Google roof racks first right? I mean check out the options, prices and so forth. Also maybe find out which roof racks are more popular. You don't want to buy some untested roof rack just because of the sale price and then find half your luggage has fallen off because the clamps were too weak or straps not strong enough to hold it all. Nope, that won't do. In case you are curious, there's dozens of YouTube “funny incident” videos of luggage flying off poor quality vehicle roof top carriers.

When Googling for best roof racks online in Australia, it would be safer to concentrate on the main brands – that way you can avoid having to upload your own “funny incident” video – or worse, someone else capturing it on video.

So which are the top roof racks to check online?

Like we mentioned, the main brands and these include Thule, Yakima and Rhino. They make the best roof racks in the World and are especially ideal for the Australian outback.

While aerodynamically styled sleek roof pods are not new, the earlier models had limited space within (due to design limitations). These days however, while the external design continues to remain sleek and aerodynamic, the size and internal structure have undergone changes to not only allow more luggage but also secure them so things don't rattle inside the pod. And the Thule Vehicle Fitouts brand produces some of the meanest looking roof racks. They are full of features and stylish enough to suit any of the latest BMW's, Audis and Mercs.

Roof rack pods these days are quite functional, aerodynamic and easy to set up. They have a built-in torque indicator that clicks when it's mounted – no more guess work. They also have an added feature - dual-sided openings! This ensures you can access your luggage from both sides of the car – this can be important when you've parked the car in a tight spot.

Rhino Roof Racks Sydney on the other hand are a great solution for SUV and Jeep enthusiasts heading off into the Australian outback. They manufacture great racks that can strap down anything from camping gear to to spare fuel tanks. You can even mount lighting fixtures on it.

So, there's two ways to find the best roof racks online from suppliers in Australia; you could Google for it or, you could simply head to http://www.barsnracks.com.au this is a one-stop url for anything and everything on roof racks and more.

Bars N Racks Offers Vast Range Of Vehicle Accessories For Off Road Journey

Vehicle Accessories

After doing all the mild circuits sooner or later you will hit the great Australian outback. For this tough trail, you need vehicle accessories that will withstand the great Australian outback without letting you stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Before you plan your great outing, you need to take a closer look at your vehicle – is it tough enough to take on the tough Australian outback?

Vehicle Suspension:

One of first things you need to understand is that a new vehicle, even if classified as a 4x4, is essentially fine tuned for city driving – because that's where we do 90% of our driving. Your 4x4 might look tough but believe us, it really isn't ready to take on the great Australian outback – not without modifications and some vehicle accessories for the off road journey.

One of the first things you need to look at is the vehicle suspension – a factory fitted vehicle comes with a standard suspension that is customised for city driving on nice smooth roads. The moment you add weight and drive your vehicle off road, the suspension will break down and it will break quickly.

So, you need to change your suspension which is not as tough as it sounds. There are specific after-market suspensions kits for each type of vehicle. These kits are specifically designed for carrying weight as well as take on the ultra tough terrain. These tough suspension systems also provide additional ground clearance for your vehicle so also remember to add a retractable foot step to the vehicle if required. Visit your nearest 4X4 Accessories Sydney store for a full range of options in vehicle suspension.

Water proof your engine:

Have your engine looked at by an expert to make sure it is 100% water proof and that it will not stall the moment a little water enters the engine compartment. This can happen when you cross rivers and streams.

Luggage Accessories:

Your vehicle is going to pitch and you as it goes over ditches, rivers, boulders, stumps and everything else out there. Anything that is not securely tied down is going to tumble. Visit Bars-n-racks for luggage options that are especially designed for off road journey. These will include Car Roof Racks Sydney, drawers and cargo barriers. Remember to leave space for the filled garbage bags.

Recovery Equipment:

Tow wires, hitches, winches, tyre deflators and infiltrators, traction mats, shovel, 48-inch high-lift jacks, first-aid kit.

Camping gear:

Tents, backup power supply, fuel, field cooking gear, pots and pans, outdoor toilet kits, folding tables and chairs, garbage bags, refrigeration, camp lighting including flash lights.

All-in-one source:

Head straight to Bars-n-racks, Sydney. They not only have everything you need for your off road journey, they have expert guidance at hand to match the correct accessories for your vehicle and the trip you've planned. Also, because most of them have made dozens of off-road trips themselves to all corners of the Australian outback, they know what you will encounter and can guide you on the accessories you must carry to make your trip a success.

Tow Bar Bike Carrier: Design For Easy Loading & Secure Transport

Tow Bar Bike Carrier

With off-trail biking and off-trail adventures becoming more popular by the day, every one it seems is investing in off-road bikes. The next thing they need is a means to carry their bikes to their camping site or off-road holiday location.

The easiest way this can be done is by adding one simple accessory to their vehicle – the bike carrier. The traditional way was to fix roof bar racks with bike clamps. But these are not really practical and you can guess why; unless you're as tall as a palm tree with Herculean arms, manoeuvring bikes to the top of the vehicle is not an easy trick to accomplish. Also, a couple of bikes perched on top of vehicle does look a bit funny – like there's a new circus in town.

Roof bar racks aren't the only way to do the job. Also lifting bikes to the top of the vehicle roof isn’t easy. Plus, there is the ugliness to it and also the heavy drag factor which will have an affect on your fuel economy. The better option is to go for a towbar bike rack and if you head to barn-n-racks in Sydney, you will find dozens of options to choose from.

If confused as to which a tow bar bike rack would best suit your requirement, simply talk to the friendly staff at Bars-n-racks and they will have your requirement sorted out in a jiffy. In fact, finding the perfect towbar bike rack that meets all your requirement specifications couldn’t be simpler. All you need to do is to mention the number of bikes you want to carry and then select a platform that makes loading and unloading the bikes easy. You can also opt for a bike carrier that swings away to give you access to the boot of the car. Yep, these days there's all kinds of options available.

When you buy a tow bar bike rack from Bars-n-racks, you can choose:

1. Towbar bike racks for up to 4 bikes, including E-bikes,
2. Platform racks for easier loading and unloading of bikes
3. Swing-away tow bar bike racks for easy access to the vehicle rare.

A tow bar bike rack is secure, safe and affords easy transportation of your bikes to your holiday destination. You get to select a bike carrier design that is ease of use as well as convenient. It could be fully foldable two-bike towbar racks that also suit E-bikes. Whichever 4X4 Tow Bars bike carrier you select, if it is sold by bars-n-racks you can be sure it will be easy to load and unload your bikes. Also, your bikes will be safe and secure while you concentrate on your driving. Absolutely no worries at all.

Expert Tricks to Transform Your Car with BARS N RACKS

Bars N Racks

SUV's and off-roading are the new trend. Most vehicles being sold in the market today are SUV's. But the higher ground clearance of SUVs can also result in unintended problems especially if you have seniors travelling with you. Wish you had an extra step to mitigate the problem? Now you can. Auto step: One of the after-market accessories that is available today is the step that unfolds when the door is opened and folds back when the door is closed. No, it is nothing something from a Hollywood film – this is an accessory that is really available in the market and it adds a touch of class to your vehicle.

Animated Turn Indicator: Every vehicle has turn indicators. But the premium segment these days, come equipped with animated turn indicators and no, we don't mean on-off blinkers. A typical animated turn indicator has high-intensity running LED lights that instantly attract attention – which is what a turn indicator is supposed to do.

If your vehicle does not have these animated turn indicator, you could add one and upgrade your vehicle making it the envy of your neighbours. Animated turn indicators transform your Van Storage Systems to make it look premium.

HUD Display: HUD display has been around for a while. But most after-market HUD displays were kind of tacky in appearance and not as impressive or information-rich as the premium segment sports cars. HUD makes driving very easy by providing related information including navigation, speed, engine revs, temperature and so forth right in the front of your eyes. HUD helps you keep your eyes straight on the road rather than looking at the information display panel usually located behind the steering.

Cool / hot seats: Going outback driving? You definitely need to consider cooling seats. A cooling seat is a temperature-regulated ventilated seat that stays cool (or warm) as needed. The cooling seat has a thermo-electric pad available and a cable with adopter plug that can be plugged into car’s regular socket.

Tyre Pressure Sensors: This premium segment Car Roof Racks Sydney product can add real class to your car information display unit. But that apart, it is a very important tool especially when off-roading. The tyre sensors come with four valve mounted pressure sensors-cum-transmitter and one receiver-cum-display unit. The tyre pressure sensor will continuously transmit the pressure information to the receiver unit. The receiver unit continuously display tyre pressure reading for all four tyres. No wiring required.

All these premium segment after-market vehicle accessories are available at most vehicle accessory shops in Australia.

4WD's Enjoyable Driving Experience Whether You Are Scaling Hills Or Navigating Rough Terrain

4WD Gear

What is a 4WD?

Most people own vehicles that are two-wheel drive, meaning that the engine provides power to only two, either the front or back pair. In a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle, the engine provides power to all four wheels.

Advantages of 4WDs

Compared to two-wheel drive vehicles, 4WDs are easier to control and sustain traction better, especially in slippery conditions. If one or two wheels come off the road, with a 4WD, you can rely on two or three other wheels to regain control. A few other advantages of 4WDs include:

• Extra Safety: most 4WDs are elevated and give drivers better visibility of road before them.

• Extra Room: the characteristically bigger interiors deliver added room for passengers, supplies and/or gear, making any trip, regardless of purpose, easier and more fun.

• Cornering and Overall Stability: power is equally spread amongst all the four tires, so the weight on each is reduced, and such stabilizes the vehicle overall, on hills, and while turning corners.

4WDs are Enjoyable Regardless of Terrain

Australia is full of rough territories, sandy beaches, and sloping hills and a 4WD is really the only vehicle that can handle those areas. You’ll nonetheless have a great time driving through those parts because a 4WDs’ better traction and greater stability result in a better driving experience. Safety, as always, comes first. Here are some tips keep you safe while riding certain terrains:

• Potential Rolls: this is a concern whenever there is a hard angle on uneven, rocky ground. Consider first how your vehicle will operate before you execute the turn. If at any time you sense a possible roll, stop at once. If it’s too late to stop, try to turn into the roll (direct wheels in the direction the vehicle is leaning. E.g. if you start to tip left, turn the wheel hard left). You may be able to correct the roll.

• Soft Sand: soft sand can cause trouble. To stay out of it, you have to keep on moving. When the beach is soft, third gear low range should deliver adequate speed and grunt. Keep gear changes to a minimum as the sand can pull you up when you ease off the throttle. Tow Bar Hitch Gear shifts should be even and quick and sustain speed. If you get bogged down – easy does it - don’t fight – spinning your wheels will only drive you down more. Gradually reverse over the flattened sand.

• Driving Up Steep Hills: when you come across a steep hill, look it over carefully. If you couldn’t safely walk up the hill, you can’t safely drive up the hill. If you determine that the hill is safe to drive, first decide which gear you’d like. It’s best to avoid gear shifts while you’re in mid-climb as it lessens the possibility of rolling. Also try to keep stops to a minimum as stops and starts are tricky on hills and you want to avoid rolling back, especially if you have a manual transmission.

• Driving Down Steep Hills: gravity will continually try to pull you into an uncontrollable slide, so control is key while driving down steep hills. Try not to engage the clutch – it will increase your speed, and if you activate the brakes, the wheel may lock and you could skid and, well, the rest is extremely unpleasant.

Once you get used to handling your 4WD Vehicle Fitouts and can navigate through rough terrains, you'll be taking trips to romantic, out-of-the-way camping areas; hiking trails with rare wildlife; little-known fishing holes; stunning parks, just to name a few.

Yakima Roof Racks - Easy To Install And Feature Aerodynamic Styling And Functionality

Yakima Roof Racks

Yakima Roof Racks are not only affordable, they are easy to install, and feature aerodynamic styling and functionality. Part of the fun of biking is getting to your destination. Since these racks are easy to install, include universal hardware, and are easy to remove, you can make getting to your destination more about the experience than loading and unloading your bikes. If you are looking for Yakima roof racks, you should gain as much knowledge as possible before making your purchase.

How to Choose Your Yakima Roof Racks

When you are trying to choose the best Yakima roof rack for your vehicle, there are some things you may want to consider. The first thing you should consider is what you plan to use it for. Some people use theirs for bicycles, others use them for kayaks, and others use them for skis. What will you are hauling on your roof racks?

Getting the Right Fit

In order to get the right fit for your Yakima roof rack, you should use their configuration guide. This guide can help you choose the right track for your vehicle, your hauling purposes, and your price range.

Alternatives to Yakima Roof Racks

If you are not sure that the roof rack will suit your needs, or if you have a truck, you can use one of the alternative methods. Unfortunately, roof racks are not always paint-friendly options for your car. They can rub the clear coat away, and slowly eat away at the underlying paint and primer. This leaves your car at risk for developing rust spots, which threaten your resale value, as well as your car's structural integrity. Fortunately, there are other options available through Yakima.

Trunk Rack

How 4x4 Accessories Play a Big Part in Making 4WD Touring Enjoyable?

4x4 Accessories

If you like touring on a 4x4, you know how dangerous a standard machine can be. By purchasing quality accessories and modification parts, you can make your 4x4 touring a lot safer, and much more enjoyable. Simple additions, like spotlights, a winch, and roof racks can make your trip easier to manage and can allow you to have a lot more fun while you are out and about.

Anytime you go 4x4 touring, you should be prepared with protective gear, recovery equipment, and the need for mechanical repairs. You should have a complete understanding of your steering, your transmission, the suspension kit, and any custom modifications.

Safety While 4x4 Touring

The first thing you must prepare for with any 4x4 touring is safety. Make sure that you follow all of the instructions for your 4x4 vehicle, and any gear you have on board. Always check your gear before you leave to ensure that it is not damaged and that it is fully operational. You should also make sure to check all straps and remove any knots that are in them.

Recovery Equipment

By adding accessories that increase safety, you can make your 4x4 touring experience a lot more enjoyable. Here are the most common pieces forms of recovery equipment used when 4x4 touring.

Snatching

The most common type of recovery when 4x4ing is snatch strap recovery. It is the most effective way to remove your 4x4 from a mud bog. However, there are a lot of different options that do not pose the same risk as snatch strapping, which pulls hard on the chassis and can ruin your suspension.

Instead, use a hitch that is rated for the vehicle's weight, and make sure you use a bumper Van Tow Bars that is rated for the vehicle weight.

Winch Recovery

Another popular self-recovery method is winching. A hand winch allows you to the capability of ratcheting the vehicle out of a mud bog. The process is slow, but it is effective when you have no other option.

An electric winch is a preferred method of self-recovery, but make sure the equipment is certified for use in winching more than your vehicle's weight and make sure you strap the winch to the frame, not the suspension. Make sure to inspect your cable well before use. Cables have been known to snap under great stress, turning them into a very dangerous projectile.

Vehicle Inspection

Before you go 4x4 touring, you should inspect your vehicle completely. There is nothing worse than being out on a muddy trail when your Sydney 4X4 Accessories vehicle breaks down. By inspecting your vehicle before every outing, you are ensuring your safety and the safety of your passengers.

Tips Before Custom Roof Rack Fitting and Installation

Roof Rack DesignIf you are considering adding a custom roof rack to the top of your car, there are some things you will want to take into consideration before you decide on the exact custom roof rack you want to purchase.

Buying a custom roof rack may seem like it is a cut and dry situation, but it is not. You will need to consider what you will be using it for. Will you be using it for luggage, canoes, or bikes? Do you see yourself using it to transport more than one type of equipment?

Even the simplest of custom roof racks can be used to transport luggage, skis, surfboards, bicycles, and other items. However, when you purchase your custom rack, you will want to have all of your attachments custom fitted for the purposes you intend to use the rack for. By understanding what you plan to use it for, you will be able to choose the right system for your vehicle, and your purpose. These tips will help you choose the right custom roof rack.

What You Will Need

• Tape Measure

Determine the Purpose

If you are having trouble determining what you will use your roof rack for, think about what is usually in your way when you transport it inside your car. What do you see yourself attaching to the roof over the next few years?

What is Your Budget?

Determining your budget is very important. A custom roof rack can range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. While the price does dictate the quality, in most cases, you do not want to put yourself in debt for an addition to your car. Here are some things to consider when determining your budget.

• Will you be considering a single type of item all the time, or will you be hauling different items all the time?

• The installation process might affect what you are willing to spend. If you do not mind drilling through your car roof, you can save quite a bit of money. This type of roof rack will be considered permanent. If you do not want to drill holes in your car's roof, you can purchase a Rhino Roof Racks Sydney that is removable and can be attached to your second car with ease.

Measuring

In this step, you will need to measure all aspects of your vehicle that will affect the fit of your roof rack.

• If you are going to purchase a Rola Roof Racks Sydney that is universal, you will need to measure the length of your roof, and the distance between the doors. A universal rack will attach to the door frames, so make sure your measurements are accurate.

• Measure how much space your vehicle has around it when you park. If you have a low garage roof or carport, you will want to measure how much clearance you have.

Once you have gathered this information, you are ready to fit and install the roof rack that suits your needs.

Things To Consider When Choosing Your Roof Rack Design

Roof Rack Design

Without a shred of doubt, a vehicle roof racks make it possible to carry all the things you might need for your outdoor adventure or holiday. But it's true test will happen when you actually being placing the things you need to carry, onto the vehicle roof rack. That's when you would either be proud to have chosen the right roof rack or you would be miserable to find that you have to tell your son that his Kayak will not fit on the roof rack.

So when you are choosing your roof rack design, you would want to obviously first consider all the things you might want to carry and also the terrain you would be travelling e.g. dusty, rough, dense vegetation etc. You would also want to consider if you want the roof rack to be a permanent accessory to your vehicle or something which you want to install as and when needed and take off once you return. The roof rack design element will have to take all this into account. The vehicle roof rack design also needs to take into account the vehicle load capacity and roof design.

Largely, there two categories to the vehicle roof rack design; commercial and recreational. A commercial roof rack is usually mean to carry a limited number and type of things. These are usually connected with the type of equipment required for the trade carried out by the vehicle owner. The commercial roof rack design tends to be simple but sturdy. The recreational roof rack design on the other hand, is a completely different ball game.

A recreation roof rack design for your vehicle takes into account everything that you need to carry from bicycles to canoes to kayaks, snowboards, skies, scuba gear and even tents.

Vehicle Or Car Roof Racks Sydney come in various shapes and sizes. The shape and size of your roof rack design will depend on the type and shape of the vehicle for which it is intended and its load capacity. Depending on your vehicle, you might have to separately purchase supportive attachments and load bars.

When choosing your roof rack design, you also need to take into account existing roof gutters, existing railing and so forth. These things will impact the type of towers or 'feet' to be used for your roof rack.

Some 4x4 vehicles come with pre-drilled holes for a rack but no rack is provided. If this is the case with your vehicle, you have the option to choose a rack based on two rails or tower style rack on four feet. Also, take into consideration that these days’ Sydney 4X4 Accessories bars are available.

A roof rack accessory bar allows it to be added or removed depending on the type of equipment to be carried e.g. grommets for kayak or camps for bicycle wheels and so forth.

Tips Before Select A Roof Rack That Suits Your Load Carrying Needs

Roof Racks

If you are thinking of installing a roof rack on your vehicle, the first tip we can offer you is to pause and think about which roof rack would best suit your needs and your vehicle.

From ready-made to custom made, there plenty of options but it would be best to not only think about your immediate carrying need. Most folks tend to buy a out-of-the-box roof rack before their first holiday and might be intending to carry just a few over-sized suitcases and maybe a cycle or two. Instead, the Sydney based roof rack solution specialists – Bars-n-Racks recommends that you think a bit into the future too. For example, is it likely you might want to go on an extended outback camping trip sometime in the future?

When the extended outback camping trip question is put to folks, most say yes, that is a possibility. But here's the thing, the roof rack solution you implement today for carrying a couple of suitcases for your holiday might not suit your future outback adventure requirement.

Our next tip is to think about product versatility. The right roof racks will be versatile, will have accessories that make it adaptable to transport any outdoor tool or toy in your garage - from bikes to kayaks to tents to cargo box.

Our next tip is to think about the design - the right Rhino Roof Racks Sydney is highly stable, can carry the full rated load of your vehicle, is sturdy, is noise proof, is aerodynamic, fits your vehicle roof perfectly and looks like it is a part of your vehicle and not something fitted on top like an afterthought.

Our tip number four is to take a good hard look at the roof top of the vehicle for which you need to fit a Thule Roof Racks Sydney. Your vehicle might have a factory-installed siderails or towers, or maybe crossbars or mounting points. Or, it might just have a good old plain roof.

Tip number five is know how much weight the roof of your vehicle can carry. You will probably find the necessary information in the tail section of your vehicle's instruction manual (some vehicle manufacturer's might put this information in the specifications table and print this in the front section of your vehicle's instruction manual).

Tip number six would be to consider the advantages of your selected product. For example a roof rack; especially a tailored roof rack is advantages over other racks (e.g. trunk racks) because your roof rack can not only carry more weight and therefore more material, it also usually does not obstruct front or rare view. Also, your vehicle's paint is less vulnerable to damage, there is less noise (usually no noise), a roof rack can be aerodynamically designed so the material you carry is less vulnerable to dust – and there will be a lot of that in the great Australian outback. Finally, a roof rack is multi-purpose – carry anything you like whereas (say) a trunk rack is usually meant for a specific purpose - like carry bike for example.
